Actor Jeremy Renner, best known for his roles in popular films like Arrival, The Hurt Locker, and The Bourne Legacy, recently opened up about his terrifying snowplow accident in a TV interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer. On New Year’s Day, Renner broke over 30 bones when he tried to stop a snowplow from running over his nephew. Despite the severity of his injuries, Renner says he “chose to survive” and would do it all again because it was going right at his nephew. He was admitted to the hospital in critical condition with blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.
During the interview, Renner shared how he was “awake through every moment” when the seven-tonne machine crushed him, causing him to lose a lot of flesh and bone. However, he also shared how the experience has refueled him with love and titanium. Renner became emotional when Sawyer reminded him how he communicated with his family using sign language while recovering from his injuries.
Renner also recently posted a loving tribute to his daughter on her 10th birthday, calling her his “biggest source of strength.” The tribute included a photo of Renner and his daughter and expressed his love and admiration for her.

Renner’s new Disney+ series Rennervations will premiere on April 12, 2023. The series follows Renner as he renovates and restores his childhood home in Modesto, California. The actor will appear in person at the world premiere and participate in a Q&A after the screening.
